Gods and Monsters

This is a very cool site listing of all the monsters and mythical creatures that humans have come up with over thousands of years. I personally love browsing this site, and looking at all the different weird creatures.

Cartographers Guild

The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.

Although they specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, they specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members there also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

The image was created by arsheesh, and this is a very good tutorial on there.

How to draw a 3D city map: a bird's eye view

An amazing video by the talented Circle Line Art School

1:To draw each building, you only need to draw the top of the roof!
2: Add some chimneys to give a feeling of scale
3: Add tone to one side of each roof, I use hatching and crosshatching; shading with parallel lines
4: The last step is to add dark shadows to one side of each building, these are important as they give the impression of the shape and size of the buildings.

The Artifexian Podcast

The Artifexian Podcast is ran by the wonderfull Edgar Grunewald, and his friend Bill McGrath. Edgar also has a Youtube channel, wich has sadly been "cryogenically frozen" for the time being, due to him having an actual job. There are still some excelent tutorials on the channel on the creation of scientifically feasible planets and solar systems.
